Life can be hard at times. Pregnancy and motherhood often come with fears, difficulties, and questions.  When a woman comes into our center, she's looking for help. She needs to know if she's pregnant. Or she needs material resources to help care for a young child.  We want to help with some of those material and practical challenges, as well as offering support, friendship, and instruction to help women grow emotionally, spiritually, and personally as new moms, too. Alpha is a Christian organization that seeks to help women who find themselves unexpectedly expecting. Each year, they help more than 500 women and families across the Des Moines metro area.  All of the services are free.

The building was damaged during the flash flooding which has added additional hardship. The basement was flooded and the loss was great. Some of these funds will be used to get the center back up and running.

Trailhead Local partners with amazing businesses and individuals who care about at-risk youth and are serious about the health and future of their communities. Trailhead Local works directly with local school districts to promote scholarships opportunities for at-risk situations where the funding of additional activity, equipment, clothing, gear, or rentals is a primary cause for a student's lack of participation. Trailhead Local provides scholarships for those at-risk students  who desire to use their talents in sports and music activities but simply don't have the necessary funds to participate.
